Geography, like history, is a way of looking at the world. Whereas historians study variation through time, geographers study variation through space: how and why the earth’s natural and human features vary from place to place.
Geographers study Earth’s diversity, its resources, and humankind’s survival on the planet. Taking an integrative approach to environmental sustainability challenges and their solutions, geographers look at economic, cultural, and social processes and goals to determine strategies for uses of resources.
